District-Wide Results — NWEA Assessment
A large urban school district in Northern California used MathLinks: Essentials in a second period intervention class. Based on NWEA data, students in the intervention classes outperformed their peers and the assessment's normed average. Read the full report.
San Gabriel Valley — Fraction Summer Session
A medium sized school district in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles County used the MathLinks Fraction module in a summer session for incoming 6th graders. Data were gathered on two separate "pre-and-post" assessments:
(1) One specific to the fraction material covered (2) One created by the school district for overall grade-level mathematics performance.
The fraction assessment was a true pre-and-post, given at the front and back ends of the summer session. The district assessment was given at the end of 5th grade, then again at the end of the summer session.
The results were intriguing. As expected, students fared better with fractions after the summer session. Unexpectedly, their scores across all grade-level topics increased as well — even though only fraction concepts were addressed. Our team determined this growth may be due to students' overall improved disposition toward mathematics after working with engaging MathLinks content.

I like the packets because I am more organized and do not lose the papers. The work seems easy, too.
We just wanted to express our sincere gratitude to the MathLinks team. We saw the most growth we have ever had in math as a school (using MathLinks) with our struggling learners.
We used MathLinks: Essentials in a summer bridge program for incoming 9th graders. The students were engaged with the materials and found the format of the packets easy to understand. The PowerPoints helped to simplify and focus instruction that promoted understanding and rich conversations. The Teacher Edition was simple and straightforward to use. Teachers reported improved attitudes and successes.
I have used the Proportional Relationships for two years now. The rich problems engage students of all abilities, challenging them to use multiple methods. I find it to be a cohesive unit that nicely ties together ratios, rates, proportionality, and direct variation, with special attention to the language of CCSS-M.
